About Us

Taryn Asher

Working for the Fox 2 family is a career high point. I have the privilege of pursuing my passion for uncovering the truth and reporting the facts nightly on FOX 2 News. But I'm grateful that I also get to have fun anchoring our friendly Sunday morning show with Charlie Langton and Alan Longstreet. Make sure to tune in as you enjoy your Sunday morning coffee! And  be sure to join our spirited Let It Rip discussion every Sunday 9:30 a.m.

Growing up in Livingston, County, I was able to watch all three TV markets I would eventually work as a reporter and anchor in: Lansing, Flint and Detroit. I always had a passion for journalism, and to be able to have a career in my home state is really a dream come true.

It was in Flint that I met (and co-anchored with) the man who would become my husband, Fox 2's Jason Carr. We married in 2007 and welcomed the joy of our lives, our daughter, Gia, in 2011! We also have a dog from the Humane Society, Sami, who graciously shares us with our daughter (mostly).

I have been fortunate to receive an 3 Emmy Awards. In 2012 - for  a series of stories I did that resulted in a state law banning K2 and other synthetic drugs.  In 2009, for exposing extensive nursing home abuse in Warren. And in 2006, for investigative reporting exposing the cause of a deadly natural gas explosion that killed several members of a family.

It has also been my honor to receive several awards from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters and Associated Press, most recently for a feature story highlighting a woman, who sold her multi-million dollar company and moved to the poorest zip code in Detroit where she decided to open a school...From riding the bus to make sure kids are getting to school to feeding them three meals a day, the selfless 28 year-old is working to break the cycle in Detroit.

I love my job and telling your stories! Make sure you follow me on Facebook  or Twitter.
