From the little trikes to big bikes, there is is a custom-made set of wheels for every child in Beaumont Children's Hospital Bike Day program. The program provides special bikes for children with special needs.

One of the big contributors to Bike Day is Children's Miracle Network. More than 100 bikes are going to kids and the cost of these customized bikes ranges from $1,300 all the way up to $6,000.

But the benefits are priceless.

"A lot of these kids ... who are disabled really don't have community access, and so this puts their rehab, if you will, in the family context, in an individual independence context and also in a therapeutic context. So, when you look at all three of those things, it's healthy, it's fun and it's within the context of the family and community," says Dr. Edward Dabrowski.

Once everyone has a good feel for the bike, helmets are fitted and adjustments are made and then it's time to load up the bikes and take them home.
