Operation Backpack is back for annual school supply drive

Join FOX 2, 96.3 WDVD, Kroger and Volunteers of America Michigan for Operation Backpack!

The Volunteers of America Michigan program helps local children in the community start the school year with the right supplies. One of the best parts of  getting ready for the new school year is getting new items for school, but some families don’t have the means to tackle long supply lists. A backpack filled with pencils, pens, notebooks and erasers might seem ordinary to most kids - but to a child in need those few items can bridge the gap between fitting in and feeling different.

So join us so that we can support VOA and Operation Kid Equip in making sure all kids start school with that tools they need to succeed!

There are two ways you can help!

Option 1:
Bring new items for school to any area Kroger now through September 15th!  You can bring school supplies to the store... Or pick up a school supply kit at Kroger for just $7 and drop it into the bin at the front of the store!  Look for the box of supplies where school supplies are sold.

Option 2:
This weekend, help us Stuff a Bus!  Bring new supplies to any of our three locations:

13 Mile and Woodward - Royal Oak
Somerset Collection-Troy
Genesis Credit Union - Shelby Twp

Stuff-A-Bus Times:
20th - 8am-7pm
21st - 8am-7pm
22nd - 9am-7pm
23rd - 9am-6pm

Children who don't have the right tools don't do as well in school so get 'on board' and help us stuff a bus!
