"Always Keep Going"

By: Alexa Doria

As a senior this year, I had to submit my favorite quote to the yearbook committee to accompany my senior picture.

While looking for a quote online, I found what I felt was the perfect one:  “There will be haters, doubters and non-believers, and then there will be you proving them wrong.”

I found this quote to be a true depiction of my teenage years.  Many times in my teenage life there have been people who have told me to quit and that I could not accomplish my goals or something that I wanted could not be done.  However, while it may be hard to deal with failure, it is worse to have someone tell you to give up or to stop trying.

It makes you question whether or not your hopes and dreams are worth fighting for.  As one teenage to another, I can tell you with absolute certainty, your hopes and dreams are worth it.

I have had many goals and dreams in my life that I have worked very hard to achieve.  If you have a dream, you need to work hard and fight to make it a reality.  You must have the drive to keep moving forward when those around you are trying to block your path.   Most importantly, you always need to believe in yourself.  If you believe in yourself and in your abilities, nobody can take that away from you and your dreams will come to fruition.

At the end of the day, when the odds seem to be stacked against you and it feels like the whole world is against you, the only person who can pick you up is you.

Do not ever give anyone the power to weaken your belief in yourself.  Always aim high and never lose sight of where you want to go and who you want to be.
