We've reached October 21, 2015, the day Marty McFly and Doc Brown reached when they traveled to the future in the 1985 cult classic, "Back to the Future, Part II."
Some of their predictions have come true:
- Big Screen TVs
- Video Conferencing
- Pepsi Perfect is even a thing (product placement, anyone?)
- High tech glasses
We don't have everything from the movie yet.
- Flying cars (although we have self-driving cars)
- self-tying shoes
We're on the fence about hover boards, and even though the Chicago Cubs still have a chance to win the World Series, they have a long way to go.
How much are people celebrating? At the mall known as
Twin Pines Lone Pine Mall (it's actually called Puente Hills Mall), a DeLorean and a Dr. E. Brown Enterprises truck were at the mall for the special day. Watch it:
Actor Christopher Lloyd is surprised the movie has remained timeless. "I mean I understand why, I didn't anticipate this when we were making the movie that we'd be sitting here now discussing it but the kind of excitement of the series doesn't diminish it just keeps building cause more and more young people see it, their kids see it and it just expands, it keeps going on and on and on and it has aged very well," he said. "I saw it last night and it looked fresh, it looks new, has the same excitement to it, so it's a phenomenon."
The trilogy is being re-released on the 10/21/15, which has been deemed 'Back to the Future Day' due to its reference in the film.
