CriticLee Speaking: the 14 year wait for 'Incredibles 2' was worth it

It took 14 years for an unlikely superhero family to return to the big screen -- but the time is finally here.

"Incredibles 2" is in theaters now, the second installment about a seemingly normal family of five that all have a certain superpower that must be kept hidden.

The story picks up exactly where the first movie left off. Superheroes are still outlaws, and The Underminer is threatening to take over the city. He's the one who popped up in the last couple minutes of the first movie, threatening "war on peace and happiness." The first movie ended with the family all pulling on their masks, ready for battle.

All of the star voices are back, including Samuel L. Jackson as Lucius Best/Frozone, Holly Hunt as Helen Parr/Elastigirl and Greg T. Nelson as Bob Parr/Mr. Incredible, who's a stay-at-home dad this time around.

The story is great beause the writing's great. Without giving too much away, we'll just say the story is universal and modern at the same time. You can hear more of Lee Thomas's CriticLee Speaking review in the video player above.

In short? The 14 year hiatus was definitely worth the wait. He gives the movie two thumbs up, and says it gets a lot of things right. (In case you were wondering, he says the Pixar short that plays before the movie is worth the time, too. So don't miss it!)

"Incredibles 2" is playing at theaters nationwide now. If you're planning on seeing it, take note that a couple movie theater chains around here just rolled out some movie deals.

Emagine Theatres have movie tickets for just $5 every Tuesday. You can also get a small popcorn for free.

Tuesdays are special at AMC Theatres, too. Tickets are just $5, as well as a small popcorn-drink combo.

You have to be a member at both chains, though, to get the deal. You can sign up online or in theater for free.
