DETROIT (FOX 2) - Drevon Johnson was missing since the middle of December and on Thursday his family made a tragic discovery.
His family found his body outside of his home, at the last place he had been last seen alive at Keeler and LeSure this afternoon.
"We just started searching abandoned houses," said Yenta Johnson, Drevon's aunt, who said she was the one who found him. Another relative said that a foot on the roof was spotted, leading to the find.
On Wednesday police sent a notice asking the media to report on Johnson being missing, since he had been out of touch with his family since Dec. 16th.
A month ago Johnson's girlfriend allegedly heard gun shots at the house where family would eventually make the grisly discovery.
"She said she went into the basement when Drevon never came back in," Johnson said. "She called a ride for someone to come get her but she never called the police, never walked two doors down to tell his mom, she never volunteered info to any of us. The only reason she gave up information, because we were now looking for him."
"We know everyone's lifestyle is not golden (but) he didn't deserve this," said Kimani Beasley, another aunt. "Nobody deserves to have their loved one taken from them like this."
"He crawled out of the window he was on the roof," Johnson said.
"He had his hood over his head," Beasley said.
The family is hoping that anyone who was with Drevon Johnson in December will come forward.
There has been no word yet on cause of death from the medical examiner's office.
