National Association of Letter Carriers come to Detroit

They deliver the mail in the USA every day.

Now, members of postal union are converging right here in The Motor City. Detroit's Cobo Center is hosting the convention of the National Association of Letter Carriers.

The group meets every other year to discuss union issues, and job security. It's the first time it has met in Detroit in more than 50 years.

"We have all kinds of workshops that go on before the general session and after the general session," said Sandy Laemmel, Branch 1 Letter Carriers of Detroit. "So when we leave here as letter carriers we are better prepared to represent our members back home."

We are told the convention will bring at least 10,000 letter carriers and visitors downtown.
