Police, caught on a cell phone video beating and kicking a carjacking suspect in Detroit has many asking if officers went too far.

The suspect, Andrew Jackson, Jr., was armed and had allegedly just carjacked a woman and her grandchildren at gunpoint.

Jackson has had 16 aliases and a lengthy rap sheet but was struck both before being handcuffed by the officers - and after.

Part 2: An officer involved has troubled past.

One of the officers, Highland Park policeman Ronald Dupuis has a history of incidents.

Sgt. Ron Dupuis accused of assaulting a mentally disabled man, tasering a partner, having made stops at other departments like Hamtramck and Southgate.

So is this police officer a hero - or a problem cop with a long history of getting into trouble.
