Standing desks helps combat 'dormant butt syndrome'

- Standing desks are good for your health, especially for your rear end. That's according to a new study released by researchers at Ohio State University.

Standing desks have become more popular in recent years, probably because the average American worker sits 12 or more hours each day.

All that sitting is known to increase the risk of heart disease and other chronic illnesses, and one researcher also says sitting it leads to what he calls "dormant butt syndrome."

It is a condition which leads to the tightening of hip flexors and weakness of the gluteal muscles.

So basically, working at a standing desk station or getting up to walk around every half hour or so is a good idea.
