Here's a lice repellent mist you can make at home - that works!

- Kids are going back to school in a couple of weeks, and that means a health concern is lurking around the corner for parents -- lice.

You can find several lice repellant shampoos on the market, but they are often very expensive.

Tina Ersig from Change Soap and the Green Cleaner of Michigan joins us on The Nine to tell us about a remedy you can make at home to help with the lice. She says she used the spray often with her family last year, and just kept it next to their shoes and spray a little on her kids, head to toe - even on backpacks - before they headed out the door.

She says lice was a pretty big problem in their school last year, but they never got it in their family.

LICE REPELLENT MIST
4 oz. water
20 drops of tea tree oil
10 drops of lavendar oil

Another back-to-school trick Tina has up her sleeve is a mist that can help kids get relaxed before bedtime.

BEDTIME MIST
4 oz. water
10-15 drops lavendar
5 drops orange

She recommends spraying it on the kids' PJs and pillows at night and it helps calm them down.
