Woman founds iSow, innovative way for kids to save money

- Picking out the perfect gift for your loved one can be tricky -- and so can being on the receiving end of a gift you don't particularily want or like.

Tanya Van Court knows those feelings all too well. Her 9-year-old daughter only wanted two things for her birthday -- enough money to start an investment account and a bike. But of course she didn't get either of those things.

So, Tanya founded a way to reinvent the gift-giving process for young people with iSow.

iSow is a website where kids (or adults) set up their goals for upcoming holidays, whether it be for money to save, share or spend. So instead of leaving all of your birthday party guests running to the toy store before the party, you can send them a personalized iSow link and they can contribute $30 to your child's goal of getting a new bike instead.

Tanya says iSow also helps get kids excited about saving for both short-term and long-term goals.

She joined us on The Nine to tell us more about iSow. You can watch her interview in the video player above.
