A local doctor's effort to create sports outlets for people with disabilities is making its mark.
A local doctor's effort to create sports outlets for people with disabilities is making its mark.

Dr. Jeff Pierce founded Athletes Unlimited back in 1996 with the intention of providing social, recreational and athletic outlets to people with disabilities. The non-profits guiding philosophy is that life is not intended to be a spectator sport and strives to eliminate societal barriers that limit an individuals potential to achieve.

Athletes Unlimited just started sponsoring two youth teams, Detroit Rollin' Pistons, a wheelchair basketball team, and the Livonia Yellow Jackets, a sled hockey team.

On March 7th, Athletes Unlimited will be raffling off a 2015 Cadillac CTS, donated to the organization by General Motors. To purchase raffle tickets for the Cadillac Give Away, CLICK HERE
