13-year-old's annual drive to feed the homeless

- When he was just 8 years old, Jaylen Young started his own foundation. Now he's 13, and his mission to feed the homeless is still going strong.

He and his mother, Treneka Burdern, have given much-needed supplies to the homeless several times over the past five years. They always give out food at their big event every year, and have also given out clothes, blankets and care packages.

Now, Jaylen needs our help to make this year's big giveaway a success. They're hoping to get donations and to raise enough money to buy all the food and supplies.

The caregiver package drive is on Thursday, August 31, at Jay's Fashion House in Detroit. Right now, they're accepting non-perishable goods, hygiene products and cash donations. You can drop the donations off at Jay's Fashion House, located at 12541 Mack Srv Rd, at the corner of Mack Avenue and Conner Street.
