Hearing impaired man with love for golf teaching special needs kids

Matt Lake spent years overcoming the challenges that come along with being hearing impaired, all while he worked to become a member of the Professional Golfers Association.

Now, Matt has made it his goal to help others with special needs go after their dreams. He's giving lessons to children with special needs.

Matt says golf was his escape growing up, and that it got him through the hard times when he was picked on.

Nearly three years ago, Matt had a cochlear implant installed, which has given him the ability to hear sounds he never could before. He says it's helped him communicate better with other golfers and caddies, which helps improve his game and his chances of making it to the PGA tour.
