More than a dozen additional speakers and health professionals from across the state will be on-site, including Ken Daniels of the Jamie Daniels Foundation and Tricia L. Schuster of CARE House of Oakland County. Topics include trauma and resilience, substance abuse and the opioid crisis, suicide awareness, how to best deal with anxiety and depression, and the impact of the social determinants of health on mental wellness.
In 2018, the CHMF provided $6.2 million in funding to support and serve children in Michigan - injury prevention, mental health, abuse and neglect, oncology and cardiology research, and wellness and nutrition. The conference is an extension of its focus on the health and well-being of Michigan youth, especially mental health and wellness this year."
