Teen fighting cancer working to help other children in hospitals

A young woman in the midst of a brave fight with brain cancer is helping others dealing with the illness.

Hannah Thomas is working with Nick Kristock, founder of Fleece and Thank You, to bring some comfort to sick children. Fleece and Thank You provides blankets to children while they're staying in the hospital.

Hannah is organizing a blanket drive at Grosse Ile HS, and a spaghetti dinner to raise money for the materials for the blankets.

She joined us in studio to tell us more about her mission. You can hear from her in the video player above.

The spaghetti dinner fundraiser is Sunday, April 15 at 5:30 p.m. at St. James Church on River Road in Grosse Ile. Tickets are $10 and include raffle items, a silent auction and, of course, the spaghetti dinner.
