Barn Sanctuary's MOO-nster Mash Fall Celebration Oct. 21

The Barn Sanctuary in Chelsea rescues, rehabilitates and cares for farm animal refugees.

The group is hosting its first ever MOO-nster Mash Fall Celebration on Sunday, October 21, to celebrate before they close for the season. This is a Halloween-themed event, so come with your costume.

Barn Sanctuary co-founders Dan McKernan and Kelly Holt joined us in studio to tell us more about the sanctuary and the event. You can hear from them in the video player above.

The sanctuary started when McKernan turned his family farm into the rescue space. The sanctuary now has over 45 animal residents, with plans to build a brand new, 7-acre pig barn. They house everything from pigs to cows, who come from abuse or neglect situations and are now able to live out their natural lives on the farm. This year, the sanctuary opened up its farm to visitors and volunteers on the weekend.

The MOO-nster Mash is from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for kids under 10. Kids under 4 are free.
