(WJBK) - Many high school students will be headed toward higher education in the coming months. We may think it's as easy as filling out the applications, but there's much more to it than that. Scholar consultant and academic adviser Monica Jones joins us to tell us what all goes in to preparing for and applying to college.
She started the nonprofit Building Scholars to help the intimidating process of applying to college. The nonprofit is having an event on Wednesday, Oct. 14 to help prepare students for college.
College Palooza is more than a college fair. It's an academic exhibition designed to educate, inform and inspire students wishing to launch out, pursue higher education and live their dreams.
The event is at the Southfield Civic Center Pavilion at 26000 Evergreen Road from 5:30 - 8 p.m. For more information, visit www.buildingscholars.com.
