1 bag of split pea ( 1pound)
1 smoked turkey leg
1 1/2 large onion
1 small bag baby fresh carrots (9 oz.)
64 oz. of spring water
1 cup fresh celery
1/4 cup fresh garlic cloves
1/2 cup diced fresh tomatoes
1/8 tsp kosher salt
1/8 tsp fresh ground pepper
1. Put spring water in slow cooker. Dice the onion, chop the celery, garlic into small and thin pieces. Cut into bite zie pieces, preferable in half.
2. place all the ingredients( the turkey leg, one cup of the chopped onion, the carrots, and the celery, garlic, salt and pepper) in the slow cooker. Simmer 4-6 hours.
When the soup is done, top it off by adding the remaining diced onion and diced tomatoes for a refreshing garnish.
