Val Wilson presents Millet Breakfast Porridge

- Ingredients for today's cooking segment:

 

Millet Breakfast Porridge
(Serves two)

1/2 cup millet
1/2 cup rolled oats
2 cups water
1/4 cup Amazake (sweet, fermented, rice shake)
1/4 cup brown rice syrup
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. dried ginger
pinch allspice
pinch sea salt
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1/4 cup raisins
Rice milk

Put in a pot the millet, rolled oats, water, Amazake, brown rice syrup, cinnamon, ginger, allspice and sea salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 25 minutes until millet and rolled oats are nice and creamy. Turn of heat and add the pecans and raisins. Mix all together. Let sit 5 minutes before serving. You can serve with rice milk or you favorite non-dairy milk.
