College Student Food Stars challenge is back

How crafty are you in the kitchen? Are you a master of the microwave?

The College Student Food Stars Contest challenges college students and their microwaving skills. The student is challenged to come up with the best recipe using three ingredients, a microwave, a $10 budget and 10 minutes of prep time.

If you're interested, submit your entry on the web at www.collegestudentfoodstars.com. Eight finalists will then be chosen travel to the Holiday Inn near the University of Michigan on Sun., Nov. 13 to prepare their dishes for a panel of judges consisting of well-known media and industry folks.

Chef Heidi Keller will serve as master of ceremonies. The contest starts at 12:00 p.m. and is open to the public.

In addition to bragging rights and having their dish featured on Guy Hollerin's Ann Arbor Bar and Grill's menu for a limited time, the lucky food star who makes the best-tasting dish will win a $500 cash prize courtesy of Holiday Inn Near the University of Michigan and a $500 gift certificate to Plum Market. Two runner-up prizes will be given to winners in the categories of best late night snack and best dorm support.
