Cooking with Hatch chile peppers with Busch's

- A valley in New Mexico grows a specific type of chile pepper, called the Hatch chile pepper. The peppers only come out a specific time of the year -- which happens to be right now.

The peppers are nice and meaty, and come in medium and hot flavors. They're not as as a habanero or jalapeno pepper, but they still offer a nice, even heat.

Busch's Fresh Food Markets will have Hatch peppers along with a special pepper roaster at select locations throughout August and September. You can see a list of store locations below.

Chef Rebecca Wauldron and Head Roaster Dan Smith from Busch's Fresh Food Markets also joined us on The Nine to tell us more about the pepper. You can hear from them in the video player above. They also prepared a Hatch Chile Salsa Verde, and you can get their recipe below.
