Meijer hosts healthy eating campaign for kids this summer

School is out and summer is in! But when it comes to feeding your children, it doesn't always have to be grill cheese or hot dogs. You can feed them healthy meals too to give them the energy to get outdoors an play!

Registered Diatician Tina Miller from Meijer brought in two culinary specialities just for kids: Peach Pie Smoothie and Grilled Chicken and veggies.

Miller is the Healthy Living Advisor for Meijer. The store is partnering with Jump with Jill, a healthy eating campaign for kids across the five states Meijer operates. Here's what you need to know:

The campaign started May 29 and goes through June 26.

The partnership has funded the rock & roll nutrition show at 75 schools within the Meijer footprint since 2014.

Through its partnership with Produce for Kids, Meijer and fruit and vegetable company partners have raised more than $1.1 million to benefit children's charities in Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky. 

The Produce for Kids campaign offers Meijer shoppers in-store and online meal solutions, recipes and tips for families looking to embrace healthier eating habits on www.ProduceForKids.com

Nine participating fresh fruit and vegetable companies support the Meijer and Produce for Kids campaign.
