Detroit Horse Power at Michigan State Fair

A nonprofit that teaches kids the wonders of horses will be at the Michigan State Fair this Labor Day weekend.

Detroit Horse Power was founded by a former Detroit elementary school teacher, and the program teaches urban youth to ride and care for horses as a way to develop critical skills that will set them up for future success.

Kids from the DHP program will be at the fair volunteering and also showing off their riding skills in the ring.

The fair is at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi Labor Day weekend. For more information, visit www.michiganstatefairllc.com.
