Doernbecher Freestyle Collection coming to Elite Mr. Alan's in Detroit

(WJBK) - A special line of clothes and shoes is coming to Elite Mr. Alan's. The Doernbecher Freestyle Collection will raise money for Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Oregon.

The collection is being sold at Elite Mr. Alan's Gateway store in Detroit and at one of the company's four Soles, Inc. stores in southern Florida.

This year marks the 13th year of the event, which gives a group of pediatric patients at Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland, Oregon, near the headquarters of NIKE, Inc., the opportunity to design athletic shoes and apparel. To date, $14 million has been raised for the hospital through the program.

Jacob Bishop, CEO of Elite Mr. Alan's sneaker and apparel store, and Braylin Soon, 10, who worked with NIKE to design one of six styles being sold in the collection, joined us on The Nine to tell us more. You can watch their interview in the video player above.
