Downriver artist contributes to van Gogh-inspired oil painted feature film coming to Detroit

One local artist had a chance to work on a new, innovative oil painted feature film telling the story of Vincent van Gogh that's coming to Detroit this weekend.

Composed of 65,000 painted frames, Loving Vincent dives into the artist's complicated life and controversial death. More than 125 specially trained painters worked on the project for more than six years.

Joining FOX 2 is Wyandotte native Natalie Gregorarz.

Loving Vincent will screen at 1 p.m., 4 p.m., 7 p.m., and 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, and 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 15 at the Detroit Institute of Arts. Tickets are $9.50 general admission, click here for information about the event.
