Frozen Fish Fiasco hockey fundraiser Jan. 27-28

The ice arena at Clark Park is the only full-sized outdoor rink in Detroit. This weekend, hockey players will be lacing up their skates for a big fundraiser.

The Frozen Fish Fiasco is a two-day annual fundraising event with a full slate of hockey games pitting amateur teams from different youth hockey organizations from the Metro Detroit area against each other. It culminates with Detroit Red Wing Alumni facing off against the UAW Hockey Team.

John Ogrodnick from the Detroit Red Wing alumni team joined us in studio to tell us more about the Frozen Fish Fiasco. You can hear from him in the video player above.

The Frozen Fish Fiasco is January 27-28. The big UAW vs. Red Wings Alum game is Sunday at 1 p.m.

Admission is only $5 per day, which includes the Red Wing Alumni Game. All proceeds go toward helping the Clark Park Coalition, a group that works toward saving the hockey rink.
