Meet Jetti, the electronic rewards card

Reward cards are great until they double the size of your wallet. A new local tech start-up called Jetti is tackling that problem, with a 21st century update.

When you use Jetti, your phone connects wirelessly to the tag station and pulls up your reward card, leaving your wallet a little lighter - figuratively and literally.

"It's not a card, everything is mobile phone based so all you need to use Jetti is a smartphone," says co-founder and CEO of Jetti William Orlewicz.

Will and his two partners developed Jetti at their office downtown Ypsilanti. For lunch, they would go to Red Rock BBQ, a place that has become the lunch pad for their idea.

"They are right next door and come in all the time. We got to talking about what they're doing and it sounded interesting so we wanted to get on board and help them out," says owner of Red Rock BBQ Shawn Cool.

With Jetti being so simple and convenient, it's only a matter of time until you start seeing them everywhere.

"Right now, we are in four [restaurants] here in Ypsilanti, we're adding some in Wayne County and Oakland County as well," says Orlewicz. "We want to be in every table in every restaurant in Metro Detroit."

The Jetti tag stations can be used by Androids or iPhones and don't cost customers any fees. For more information, please visit
