(WJBK) - It's that time of year, before families gather with good food and cheer, remember that your pet may have a difficult time during the holidays. Make sure people don't slip Fido too many treats and avoid letting kids pull Fluffy's tail. Joanie Toole from the Oakland County Animal Shelter and Pet Adoption Center offers timely advice to avoid problems with your pets. If your pet is shy, give them a place of their own where they can go. If your pet loves to be the center of attention, make sure their interaction especially with children is supervised to avoid any concerns. The Fox 2 pet of the week is Buddy, a two-year-old yellow Labrador. For information contact the shelter at: 248-858-1070 or visit www.oakgov.com/petadoption
