(WJBK) - Millions of Americans have an eating disorder. Former Miss America Kirsten Haglund is working to shed some more light on the condition and how to beat it.
When Kirsten of Farmington Hills became Miss America in 2008 at 19 years old, she courageously shared her personal battle with anorexia. In the years since, she has devoted her life to helping others fight the disease.
She's speaking at an informational event on November 30 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Qazi Auditorium.
