Stage play An'Dee inspiring foster kids Aug. 20

Like the musical "Annie" tells the story of an orphaned little girl, the new stage production "An'Dee" tells the tale of a boy in foster care.

The musical tells the story of a 12 year old boy in foster care who is determined to have a successful future, turning his can't into cans and his dreams into plans.  An'Dee stars talented young actors, singers, and dancers representing children and youth from communities throughout the Western Wayne region.

There will be two performances of "An'Dee". A matinee on Saturday, August 20  will be performed for children and youth in foster care and homeless programs throughout metro Detroit.

The second performance is at 7:30 p.m. that same day.

The production is sponsored by EQUIPPED, a nonprofit that works to provide academic enrichment and promote higher education. "An'Dee" was co-written by Churi Level and Dr. Fleda Fleming and is directed and produced by Melissa Talbot, Richard Bass, and young Aunjel Safford.
