Goodness Gracious growing Detroit's floral scene

- Goodness Gracious on Detroit's Avenue of Fashion is more than a flower shop. When you walk inside, you feel the energy and the love of the women who drive this business.

Good Gracious has quite a reputation for it's work, being called on to help with some of the city's biggest events.

Master florist Kelley Anne Jones spent time inside the White House over the holidays helping to set the mood at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

"I was a Marine, so the highest honor for a Marine would be to be stationed outside the White House," she says. "Well, I didn't get to that, but I sure did get in there, didn't I?"

Being on the Avenue of Fashion and sharing in its rich history is important for this creative team. That's why they spend a lot of time volunteering in the community, like doing flower arrangement classes with senior citizens.

They also host community events inside their shop to share their knowledge. They see it has a way to welcome newcomers and neighbors in the University District.

"We don't just try to please or satisfy our customers, we try to wow them," says co-owner, Renata Seals-Evans. "We try to make them feel as though there's no other place to buy flowers."
