The Detroit Zoological Society's annual 21-and-older fundraising gala, Sunset at the Zoo, takes place Friday, June 8. This year's theme is "Safari", and the event will celebrate the Detroit Zoological Society 's wide array of education programs for learners of all ages. The event features a champagne welcome, a strolling supper with tastes of signature dishes from more than 45 of the area's finest restaurants, as well as desserts and zoo-themed specialty drinks. Attendees have the opportunity to view the Detroit Zoo's award-winning animal habitats at twilight. The festivities will also feature live and silent auctions, tram tours and live performances. Awards include a trip to New York City to take in the Tony award-winning Broadway show, Hamilton: An American Musical, a three-night stay at a beachfront retreat in Charleston, South Carolina, and some great opportunities to go behind-the-scenes at the Detroit Zoo.

Tickets for Sunset at the Zoo are available online or at the gate and start at $175 per person. Advance tickets can be purchased at www.detroitzoo.org/sunset.
