(WJBK) - This week, a very rare and special performance from the Detroit Symphony Orchestra is happening in Southfield. In fact, it has only happened two other times in the orchestra's 129 year history.
Kevin Brown, DSO principal bass, will be performing his solo debut with the DSO March 31-April 2. On the same program, Assistant Conductor Michelle Merrill will make her subscription series, conducting a program featuring Beethoven's Symphony No. 6, "Pastoral."
The show takes place at three venues. The first is on Thursday, March 31 at 7:30 p.m. at Congregation Shaarey Zedek. The next is Friday, April 1 at 8 p.m. at Macomb Center for the Performing Arts and lastly, Saturday, April 2 at 8 p.m. in Orchestra Hall.
