Kensington Metropark Farmer's Market on Fridays this summer

Kensington Metropark is debuting its inaugural farmers market, Friday, June 3 at the Farm Center, which is inside the county park so a permit is required.

The market will run 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Fridays, June 3 through Sept. 30. The Farm Center is located at 4750 Huron River Parkway in Milford.

Local vendors will offer locally grown produce, Michigan raised poultry, and handmade artisanal goods. Kensington staff will offer items directly from Kensington Metropark, like maple syrup, eggs and wool yarn.

Vendors who offer Michigan-made products, can sign up for a space for $25 per day or $360 for the season.

A Metroparks vehicle entry permit is required to enter any Metropark and is $35 annually for regular admission, $21 annually for seniors or $10 daily.

The farm center has activities planned, including planting sunflowers on June 3 and upcoming free craft events and classes for all ages. The staff seek volunteers, contact Katie Kowalski at 810-494-6020.
