Mac n' Brews and Comfort Food Feb. 25

- Sample Metro Detroit's best mac n' cheese, craft brews and other comfort foods this week at the Royal Oak Farmers Market. The Mac N' Brews & Comfort Food event brings in a line-up of 20+ local restaurants and 20+ breweries to serve up the best "feel good" homestyle favorites and a few cold ones to top it off.

4oz butter
4oz all purpose flour
1/2 gallon whole milk
2 tablespoons Worcestershire
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon ground mustard
1.5 pounds grated sharp cheddar
1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
8 oz grated smoked Gouda cheese
2 pounds cavatappi noodles

6 oz pretzels, crushed
2oz butter, melted
1oz shredded Parmesan cheese

Make a roux with the butter and flour. Add the milk and stir until it thickens. Add seasonings. Turn off heat. Add cheeses and pour over cooked noodles. Taste it. Season it with salt and pepper if necessary. Mix thoroughly. Pour mixture in a casserole dish. Combine crushed pretzels, melted butter and Parmesan in separate bowl. Cover Mac and cheese with pretzel crust. Bake in 350 oven for 20 minutes. Take out of oven and enjoy.
