Experts have long thought that exercise is a great way to heal both body and mind. Two local women have taken that theory a step, or kick, further by focusing on kickboxing.
Judith Burdick, a grief specialist and survivor, and Jessica Jacobs, also a grief survivor and boxing instructor, have teamed up to provide a five-week program pairing the benefits of kickboxing with grief therapy. Both stopped by the Fox2 Studios Sunday morning to discuss how students will work with a grief therapist in a nurturing environment and connect with others also experiencing profound losses in their lives in order to develop healthy lifestyle habits.
The classes are scheduled for five consecutive Saturday afternoons at JABS Gym in Birmingham beginning May 6. Click here for more information and to register.
