Brunch Bites Are Coming to Royal Oak

When it's too late for breakfast, but too early for lunch... there's brunch!

Arguably the best and perhaps most underrated meal of the day, brunch will be the focus of a new event taking lace in downtown Royal Oak on Saturday, April 30. The first ever Brunch Bites will feature roughly 12 of the top brunch locations that people can sample from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Luis Negrete, Owner of La Dulce, and event spokesperson Stephanie McIntyre visited the Fox2 Studios Sunday to preview the brunch celebration and shared a favorite brunch meals. 

Waffle Liegoise 

Ingredients

  • 1 kilogram flour
  • 40 grams yeast 
  • 2 eggs
  • 250 milliliters milk 
  • 250 milliliters waler
  • 50 grams powdered sugar
  • 500 grams butter
  • 60 grams honey
  • 3 grams sodium bicarbonate
  • 1 Bag pearl sugar
 
Directions
  • Mix 800 grams of flour with yeast, milk, water, powdered sugar and eggs
  • Sit 15 minutes
  • Mix butter, honey, 200 grams of flour, salt, vanilla, and Sodium Bicarbonate with the first dough
  • Sit for 10 minutes
  • Mix in pearl sugar
 
 
Violet Cream Recipe (mix all ingredients and keep chilled)
  • Whipped Cream
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Bourbon Vanilla
  • Violet Liquor
 
Maple Syrup Recipe (Reduce at boiling temperature until desired consistency)
  • Maple Syrup
  • Water
  • Molasses
  • Cinnamon Stick
  • Vanilla beans
  • Lemon Peel
  • Lemon Juice
 
Spanish Mimosa
  • Cava (Spanish Sparkling Wine)
  • Fresh Citrus Juice
