The school year is fast approaching and for many families that means back-to-school shopping lists are growing.
But some families in Detroit won't have the means to get children all the supplies they need to be ready and focused on success in the fall.
Mike Morse of the Mike Morse Law Firm is doing something about it. Last year, the firm supplied more than 10,000 backpacks filled with supplies to DPS students. This year, he's tripling the effort and expects to have more than 33,000 backpacks full of essential school supplies ready for students in need.
“We got such great feedback from families and teachers," he told Charlie Langton on Fox2 News Sunday morning. "We heard that the kids were prepared, paying more attention and were excited about it.”
