A Farmers Market Feel for Home

Update: Twigs & Branches has a new location:

Rochester Hills MI 48307

Summer is just about over and the fall is fast approaching. If fall-party hosting is in your future, then going with a farmers market approach could be a fun and inexpensive way to go for decor.

Kevin Miller, owner of Twigs & Branches Floral in Rochester Hills, visited the Fox2 Studios Sunday morning to showcase some of his ideas.

Crates and Baskets
-You can find many wood crates from either your local farmers markets, antique stores, or
even your local craft stores. These are perfect for displays for food or even in your table
scape if they are small enough! I was able to find some awesome bushel baskets from my
local and favorite farmers market, Eastern Market downtown. They usually don't advertise
them for sale but if you ask they may sell them to you like they did to me!

Flatware
-Since we are going with these sunset colors I grabbed some gold and copper flatware for
our place setting. This is a perfect little touch that guest will love. It will also make your
table stand out.

Charger Plates
-I grabbed some unique charger plates that will make any place setting look great. I used
a wood slab for one and a gray ceramic tray for another. You can also use these for
display on the food table or even part of a centerpiece if needed!

Napkin fold
-Texture and pattern is what I was going for. My first napkin was a nude linen color
napkin with a simple fold tucked under the plate. I grabbed a striped edge cotton napkin
and use a rope woven napkin ring to finish it off. Inexpensive ways to really create a
unique table setting.
