"Restaurant Weeks" have become eagerly anticipated annual or semi-annual events around the Detroit metro area with more communities regularly adding their own events.  They give diners an opportunity to sample the fare and ambiance of a variety of restaurants, each of which features their own special offers to attract the dining community.

This fall's popular "Detroit Restaurant Week" was on the verge of being cancelled by the promoter until a group of local restaurants banded together to hold their own 'renegade' restaurant week to meet the demand and keep the tradition going.

Enter "Motor City Restaurant Week", September 23 -October 2, with seven participating restaurants all offering their own unique three course dinners for $35 or less.  Participating restaurants include 24Grille, Andiamo's Riverfront, Chartreuse Kitchen and Cocktails, Cliff Bell's, Mario's, Traffic Jam & Snug, and The Whitney.

"We recognized the continued interest in Restaurant Week when we started getting calls about it several weeks ago," says Dave Duey, General Manager of The Whitney, "so we checked with some of our peers and found they were experiencing the same customer demand.  It didn't take much more than that for all of us to come together and sponsor our own event.  Restaurant Week generally sells out.  It's   a great opportunity for restaurants to kick off the fall season and bring people into the city and for customers to enjoy great dining values."

"Being involved in the resurgence of Detroit is very important to us," said Andrea Mueller of Andiamo's Riverfront restaurant.  "We're delighted to be able to offer our customers an affordable dining experience with a beautiful view of our international waterway."

Each participating restaurant will have its own individual promotions.  Menus and offers from each restaurant will be featured on a "Motor City Restaurant Week" Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Motor-City-Restaurant-Week-170218530102584 as well as on the individual websites of the restaurants. Reservations are highly recommended at all participating restaurants during the Motor City Restaurant Week program.
