Macomb Public Works Commissioner Race Heats Up

Anthony Marrocco was first elected water commissioner of Macomb County 24 years ago, and now faces his toughest challenge yet to retain his seat.

Retiring U.S. Rep. Candice Miller (R-Harrison Twp.) is challenging Marrocco, the Democratic incumbent, on the November ballot and poses a serious threat in both voter name recognition and connections earned during decades of public service.

The race is being called the most divisive and politically nasty contest on the ballot in Michigan, aside from the presidential election.

Marrocco stepped off the campaign trail and visited the Fox2 Studios Saturday morning to discuss his successes in public service, Miller's congressional voting record,  and other aspects of what many believe will be a close race to watch on Nov. 8.
