Detroit-Area Community Projects Compete for Bernzomatic's For Grants Program

Three Detroit-area community improvement projects are in the running for the Bernzomatic "Find Your Fire" grant program.

Lapeer's Detroit Bully Corps, Detroit's Auntie Na's House and Detroit's Maintenance Room, were selected finalists that could continue to give back to the community by helping victims of animal abuse, victims of domestic violence and children struggling in school.

The finalists that attract the most online votes will receive a $10,000 grant and the Bernzomatic tools needed to make their proposed project a reality. Nicole Curtis, star of HGTV's "Rehab Addict" show is also involved in the grant program.

Fans can vote online once every 24 hours through Jan. 31 and a winner will be announced next month.
