The recent boost in temperatures has it feeling like spring across Metro Detroit. Although it might not last, what better reminder of things to come than with a beautiful flower arrangement?
Lauren Paul, President of Ikebana Detroit Chapter, joined Fox 2’s Sunday morning crew to fill us in on this specific Japanese art of flower arrangement.
Japanese citizens have practiced Ikebana for more than 600 years, and it’s more than simply putting flowers in a container. It’s a disciplined art form in which the arrangement is a living thing where nature and humanity are brought together. It’s steeped in the philosophy of developing a closeness with nature.
