Covenant House Hosts 'Covenant Idol' Competition

Covenant House Michigan has helped thousands of homeless and at-risk youth across the state since 1997.

Now, those that have benefited from the program are using their singing and dancing skills for a fun competition that will help the place that gave them hope.

Students will perform before a panel of celebrity guest judges Wednesday at the Hard Rock Café Detroit for the annual Covenant Idol competition and fundraiser.

Melissa Golpe and Covenant House resident Tavon Mcbride visited the Fox2 Studios Sunday morning to preview the songs, raps and dance numbers that will be performed on stage.
