Detroit Police, Firefightes Prepare for Coney Dog Eating Challenge

They often work together to keep people safe on Detroit's streets and in its neighborhood. But a little friendly competition between Detroit's police officers and firefighters is healthy ... even when it involves Coney dogs.

Teams from both departments, and the Windsor Fire Department, will put their eating skills to the test this Thursday for the Coney Dog Eating Challenge. This year's winner will receive a championship belt as well as prizes from a variety of local retailers, restaurants and other supporters, including one year of free meals at American Coney Island.

Proceeds will benefit the Detroit police and fire charities.

Restaurant owner Grace Keros and members of both teams dropped by the Fox2 Kitchen Sunday to preview event.
