Donating Smoke Detectors for Fire Prevention Week

Teaching fire prevention is important any time of the year, but this week marks National Fire Prevention Week. Part of the goal is to educate, raise awareness of fire prevention programs, and share fire safety tips to keep people safe, including the importance of working smoke detectors.
The local law firm of Fabian, Sklar, and King has partnered with the Detroit Fire Department to help keep residents safe by donating 500 smoke detectors this year alone, and 4,000 over the past eight years. Partner
Stuart Sklar and Capt. Chris Dixon of the Detroit Fire Department visited the Fox2 News Studios Sunday morning to tell their story and share safety tips that can make a difference.
Anyone in need of a smoke detector is encouraged to call the fire department at (313) 596-2900 for more information.
