'Fleece and Thank You' Blankets Provide Comfort for Children Battling Illnesses

Hospitals rooms can be scary, unfamiliar places for anyone, but especially to a sick child.

One local group is trying to change that by providing them something warm and cozy as they go through treatment.

Fleece and Thank You is a non-profit that provides fleece blanket kits that can be customized for delivery to a favorite patient that has an extended hospital stay. Once completed, the person who made the blanket records a short video wishing the child well. The blanket can be waiting at the hospital and when the parents download the Fleece and Thank You app, they enter a code from the sticker and download the video.

Executive Director Nicholas Kristock and Ashley Sultini, a child life specialist at St. John Providence in Detroit, visited the Fox2 News Studios Saturday morning to showcase some of the blankets and discuss how others can get involved.
