Motown Museum Hosts Third Annual Motown Mic Contest

The Motown Museum has brought back its "Motown Mic: the Spoken Word" competition for the third straight year and is seeking entries for a chance to win $1,000.

The competition occurs each Friday in April and provides a platform for the next generation of artists and local poets to share their talents. Two winners are selected each week and advance to the grand finale in June at the Garden Theatre.

Raina Baker, executive assistant program director at the museum, visited the Fox2 Studios Sunday morning with 2015 Motown Mic Winner Tamyra Rene to discuss the unique competition.
Visit the museum's website for more information about tickets and how to enter the competition.
